For most of the past decade and a half, Samasem has been one of the Middle East's top oriental dancers. She incorporates everything from modern Arabic pop to traditional, slow orchastrated pieces. She slides easily from elegant classical to playful folklore. Her ear for Arabic music is uncanny, and her subtle isolations catch even the tiniest nuance. Sensuous and slow, she incorporates quick, percussive steps and hip-work seamlessly into the most oozing of oriental movements.

Based in Cairo, she has been engaged for extended contracts at all the five star hotels such as the Nile Hilton, Mena House, Meridien Cairo, Seminramis and so forth. Samsem has also regularly preformed at the top nightclubs, including such prestigious venues as Cave de Roi, Sun-set and Tivoli as well as the night clubs on Pyramid Street. Her audiences have included dignitaries like
the last two presidents of Egypt, the Royal families of Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries working with famous singers like Ehab Tawfiq, Mohammed el-Helw, Ahmed Adawiya and Khaled Agag.

She has toured four continents, as both a performer and instructor of Raqs Sharqi, from Japan and Malaysia in the Far East via Europe to America.

Samasem is giving classes on a weekly basis at Layali Oriental Dance Academy
